A SHORT LETTER

In 2016, I bet $5,000 I didn't have on myself.

I was unemployed with a family to support and maxed out on a credit card I couldn't afford.

I used that $5,000 to fly to Nashville and get certified as one of the first StoryBrand Guides. It was a bet on myself at a time when the safe thing would have been to take any job I could find.

It worked.

Within a year, I was making more than I had ever made in a salaried job. Within two years, I had helped dozens of brands clarify their message. Now, nearly a decade later, I have worked with close to 300 companies across more than 120 industries.

I don't believe in over-complicating things.

Most marketing problems aren't actually marketing problems. They're clarity problems. When you don't know who you're talking to, what problem you solve, or what you want people to do, no tactic will save you.

That's why I focus on clarity before tactics. Get the foundation right, and the tactics sort themselves out.

I also don't believe in dragging things out. You're paying for my thinking, not my time. The faster we get to the answer, the faster you can get to work.

And I believe marketing should make money.

Not win awards. Not impress your peers. Not look clever. Just make money.

The backstory.

I live outside Atlanta with my wife and kids.

I have ADHD, which shapes how I work. I operate in intense bursts of focus rather than steady marathons. That's why I've structured my business around high-impact sessions instead of endless meetings. It's how I deliver my best work, and it respects your time too.

Before this career, I studied music and earned a bachelor's degree. A different world entirely. But music taught me pattern recognition, hearing the structure beneath the surface. It turns out that skill transfers directly to business strategy.
